With new 2012 ATV models hitting the market, now may be the best time to buy a 2011 model at a reduced price.
Every year, the new model switch, leaves dealers and distributors with a heavy inventory of left-over models that have to be sold and cleared out.
At this time of the year, dealers and manufacutrers often offer heavy discounts to clear out the left-over inventory and a buyer may be able to buy a new ATV, although a 2011, at a good price.
When buying an ATV, price is an important factor: new models can cost upward of 7000 and a used one, with all of the potential problems for a new owner can cost 2,000 or more. The new model comes with a full/warranty and will give the buyer piece of mind knowing that the manufacturer has guaranteed the operation and service of the vehicle. With a used ATV, the buyer has no idea how many miles were put on the “Quad”, how many times the “Quad” has crashed or what problems and what expenses will be incurred when the used ATV changes hands.
Depending on the new owner’s driving needs, whether racing, hauling or driving through mud bogs, creeks and streams, the new ATV’s come with two or four stroke engines, two-wheel or four-wheel drives. There are three-wheelers, four-wheelers and six-wheelers on the market, suitable for every need and every desire.
For the ATV racer, the two-stroke engine is probably the wisest choice. Although the engine burns a gasoline-oil mix, the oil is for lubrication and doesn’t give the engine a power boost, but it can with a 50cc engine hit speeds of up to 78 mph.The four-stroke engine, with its slower speed, is the workhouse of the “Quads”. This “Quad” pulls an impressively heavy load.
